On October 3, Siobhan & Jay were married with a ceremony and reception at the Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, RI. The couple incorporated their love for the ocean into their ceremony by marrying at the Mansion on Bristol Harbor with views of Narragansett Bay. This was the perfect spot for these two, who reside in the seaside town of Marshfield, Massachusetts.
Siobhan and Jay celebrated their wedding amongst many family and friends, but they also had one very special guest—their rescue pup, Hinckley. Hinckley was part of their bridal party and even took part in the ceremony. He’s such a cutie! In honor of their special pup, and in lieu of favors, they made a donation to Save A Dog rescue.
The details of the day were amazing. From their invitation and cake, right down to their pup’s attire, the ocean was represented everywhere. Hinckley sported a nautical rope for his leash and an anchor bow tie. The couple tied a symbolic nautical knot during their ceremony. Guests were greeted at the reception to their place cards on a nautical map of Bristol, RI, and there was an oar to sign that would eventually hang in the new couple’s home. Siobhan used a symbol of an anchor throughout her wedding and accented it with navy, white, and a hint of red. Siobhan’s mom grew succulents and placed them in driftwood they had collected from the beach, and all the bouquets and boutonnieres were done by the bride.
Thank you, Rebecca Gutwin, for assisting me. Sioban and Jay—it was a beautiful wedding, and I’m happy I got to know you both!
